Savory Pork Rub
This quick rub works wonders on pork tenderloin. You can also use it on spare ribs or grilled chops. It’s got roots in Kansas City style barbecue but there’s a few twists in there.
Ingredients
• 1/4 cup brown sugar
• 2 Tbsp kosher salt
• 2 Tbsp paprika
• 1 Tbsp cummin
• 1 Tbsp tumeric
• 2 Tbsp rosemary ground up in your hands
• 2 Tbsp granulated garlic
• 1 Tbsp dried onion flake
• 1 tsp black ground pepper
Combine all ingredients by hand, making sure to break up any clumps of sugar. Coat your meat with a nice binder before applying the rub. Grape seed oil or olive oil works well, as does mustard or melted butter. The binder helps the rub adhere to the meat. This is a great rub for any pork cooked on the grill. Recipe makes about 3/4 a cup of rub.
