Bass and Barbecue
On October 16, bass fishing and competition barbecue come together in one big event on the shores of Lake Seminole in Bainbridge, Georgia.
The Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series Regional Championship will take place in conjunction with the fourth stop in the American Bass Anglers barbecue cook-off. The event is open to the public and free of charge.
“Bringing both a barbecue cook off festival and the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series tournament to a location like Bainbridge will give a lot of exposure for two sports on the same weekend,” said David Hagood, ABA vice president. “The Weekend Series anglers will be put on stage in front of a larger audience than they have experienced in the past, and the same is true for the barbecue teams.”
The pro-barbecue teams compete in four meat categories: chicken, ribs, pork and brisket. ABA also offers a Backyard Team category and those teams compete in only two meat categories — chicken and ribs. Winners will be offered a birth into the Kansas City Royal Championship.
